Where to stop for the bridge
Prospect Point and nearby seawall sections in Stanley Park provide the canonical views of Lions Gate Bridge. If you have time, explore both sides: the park vantage for framed views, and the waterfront for wider panoramas.
Best photo techniques
- Wide-angle: Emphasize the bridge structure and foreground rocks.
- Telephoto: Compress the bridge against the North Shore mountains for dramatic layers.
- Long exposure: At dusk, use ND filters or longer exposures from stable positions for silky water effects.
Short walking additions
- Walk the adjacent seawall toward Brockton Point for alternative angles, or continue to Third Beach for calmer sunset scenes.
Safety & transit notes
- Transit: The HoHo will usually pass Stanley Park stops — check which stop gives fastest access to Prospect Point.
- Safety: Edges can be exposed on windy days; keep pets and children close on lookout points.
